Rock Stars by Lisa Gillis is a gritty, sweaty, steamy love story, but it's so much more than that. There are so many twists and turns that you never really know where these two are going to end up. And not in the convoluted need for conflict kind of way. In the way that rock-n-roll throws people around and tosses them out kind of way.

More than the couple, I love Jules Breaux on her own. Partially because she is tough girl, going after her dreams in a time where there were few female rocker role models, but mostly because she reminds me so much of myself growing up. She isn’t a modern princess and this isn't a fairy tale where one good thing follows another good thing in a rainbow-road of unicorns. She's insecure, makes mistakes, sometimes learns from them, sometimes doesn't. Jules might have grown up as the privileged child of a rockstar, but she doesn't always get what she wants in life.

The other thing I love is the setting of 1970s Los Angeles. I love getting lost in the smog of Americana. The vinyl, the fringe, the twists and turns of the California canyons. The series is a fast-paced set, sexy romance novels, but the setting is a little reminiscent of the film Almost Famous, one of my favorites. <3

Another gem by Author Lisa Gillis. This series goes into detail of the time period, the lifestyle of a band trying to make it big in the 70s and the innocence of youth as life's lessons are learned. Wonderfully written and captivating. Would recommend to anyone in love with classic rock music and that era.
A period rock star romance set in the height of sex, drugs and rock & roll era. Really well developed characters and a story that draws you in. This series is filled with twists and turns along the way that are really enjoyable.
I cannot believe I haven't review this series before now. I first read them three years ago and to this day still think of the characters and the plot. I don't think it has even close to enough recognition for what an amazing story this is.
I was so happy that this was a trilogy but I read it from start to finish and can't wait for more! The characters are so real that I found myself blushing, getting angry or laughing out loud more than once. It was like a trip back in time and I loved it!!
I absolutely loved this series. Matt and Jules had my heart from the very beginning. The storyline was well written and descriptive that I could picture every scene in my mind while reading this book. Character development was very good.

I would recommend this series.
I am hooked on this author's writing style….it's clear that she has been there—done that---felt that! The stories and occasional lyrics at the beginning of the chapters were interesting, and kept me glued to the pages—what was next? I suppose the realty of it all struck me---there is only one-way to create that—you would have had to have been there---experienced it. A 5-STAR READ!!
